Olga Solovieva participated in three concerts of 2nd Irish-Russian Chamber Music Festival. The concerts took place in Moscow Kremlin (Armory Chamber) and Irina Arkhipova Foundation. Olga played piano quintets by John Field, Dmitry Shostakovich and Boris Tchaikovsky (with RTE Vanbrugh Quartet), pieces for flute and piano by Andrey Golovin and Éamonn Ó Gallchobhair (with William Dowdall), and songs from "Irish Idylle" by Charles Villiers Stanford (with Elena Isaeva).

23 March 2013 - Sao Paulo (Brazil): Sala Sao Paulo  - performance of 2nd Piano Concerto by Sergey Rachmaninov with Orquestra Sinfônica da USP conducted by Wagner Polistchuk.

Russian Public Award to Olga Solovieva

Olga Solovieva was awarded by the Russian public award "For the Contribution to the Musical Art" and received the Glinka medal.

 

Ольга Соловьёва награждена общественной медалью "За вклад в развитие музыкального искусства" имени М.И. Глинки. Эта медаль вручается за выдающиеся заслуги перед государством и обществом, высокий профессионализм, многолетнюю плодотворную деятельность на благо Отечества.

New CD with 19th century Russian cello music

The unique collection of Russian 19th Century music for cello and piano was issued by Naxos (8.573951), recorded by Olga Solovieva with the cellist Dmitrii Khrychev.
This CD includes two cycles of pieces by Anton Arensky and several World premiere recordings: Tchaikovsky’s own original version for cello and piano of the Variations on a Rococo Theme, Konstantin Liadov’s Fantasy on Gipsy Songs, Karl Davidov’s Fantasy on Russian Songs, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s original version for cello and piano of Serenade.

 

The CD  was called as the "Best Bargain" of the week by famous British critic David Mellor: "...For anyone who loves Russian romantic music as much as I do, this is quite a discovery" (David Mellor, ClassicFM)

 

The CD is the Winner (Silver medal - outstanding achievement) of the Global Music Awards ('duo' and 'album' nominations).
